Residual Income is key to many Freelance Writers and Website Managers income streams. Simply put Residual income is the income generated through one piece of work that keeps on arriving for weeks, months or even years after the original article was written.
Getting a decent amount off residual income is definitely not easy, the article has to be very well written, entertaining enough to bring in backlinks and on a topic which will not go out of date quickly. It has to be very well made to conform to SEO standards while bringing in enough interest to make it an occasionally boomer on digg or stumble, while still being at heart a well written document.
So how do you get long term residual income off one document?
The question is a good one and not easy to answer. It can be summarized as the following though,
- The document needs to be in a high quality of English (Grammar and Spelling).
- The document needs to have several sites linking to it.
- The document needs to be on a topic that does not age quickly.
- The document needs to be search engine friendly on a particular keyword.
- The document MUST have genuine, related content.
If you keep ontop of these the page should index well, get in a few hundred visitors a day and the few cents of income that comes with that. I know it doesn’t sound much but get a few of these articles together and suddenly you are earning a lot of money!
Now don’t get me wrong, if it was as easy as the above every man and his dog would be doing that, the trick is determination research and adaptation. You have to keep writing articles till you find what works, what fits and what fails.
You may find it takes months of practise and learning, but eventually you will find out what does and does not work for you, to such an extent that you will get enough residual income to quit your job, take a break and do nothing for a few months!
